New Delhi: Adding another feather to the state’s cap, the Himachal Pradesh Drugs Control Administration (DCA) has been honored with a prestigious national award for its outstanding performance in Regulatory Excellence, Industry Facilitation, and Export Promotion.The award was presented by Pharmexcil (Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India), an apex body working under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
State Drugs Controller Dr. Manish Kapoor reaffirmed the DCA’s commitment to uncompromising enforcement of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules and to ensuring the availability of safe, effective and quality medicines. The recognition was bestowed during the 12th edition of the International Exhibition on Pharma and Healthcare (iPHEX 2026), held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.Himachal Pradesh, widely recognized as Asia’s leading pharmaceutical hub, was chosen for this top honor due to its landmark initiatives in advancing the ‘Ease of Doing Business’. The state has successfully implemented a robust monitoring system, digitized its licensing processes, and established a transparent compliance audit framework, making it highly attractive for global pharma investments.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu congratulated the Drugs Control Administration team on this historic achievement. Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister stated that the award reflects the state’s unwavering commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards while fostering a globally competitive pharmaceutical ecosystem.Senior officials noted that this national recognition will further boost pharmaceutical exports from manufacturing zones like Baddi, Barotiwala, and Nalagarh, solidifying Himachal Pradesh’s position on the global healthcare map.
